is that for real?If I were in america,I would be put into prison.that's so weird.Fortunately,I live in china.:) I have used it for long time,my canadian friend recommended me that software,I think it is very nice.

Jake

I am guessing that it is not a legal thing since everything is free, yet some of the channels are pay channels. Also, it has some Chinese channels, so maybe it is a Chinese software.

Hi Jake,

I'm John from Daejeon, South Korea and am new to overseas English teaching. So far, so good. However, I would like teach in Southern China which is how I stumbled upon your blog. I'm from the southern U.S., so the cold of northern China and I.M./Russia are out of the question.

Just a heads up about a product called SlingBox -- http://slingbox.com/

With it, I am able to watch satellite dvr and cable dvr television back in the U.S. The little box sits in my brother's house. With 2 or more imputs, you can control 2 - 4 media sources. We share the sat., so he controls it while he is awake, but I watch what I want while he sleeps. The cable box dvr is dedicated to my use. However, by adding an addition box for a $5.00/month fee, you can have a dedicated feed/box as well.

The actual SlingBox software is between $120-$200 U.S. Have a friend/family member purchase the product and set it up in their home. Ideally on a dedicated sat/cable box and install the system on their computer. You do need broadband. They will have a unique address to the box which will allow anyone that they give it to access to the player. They may have to mail you the software after they install it and test it on their system. Make sure it is working. The Sony version was very bad. So far, SlingBox has allowed me to stay up-to-date on all my favorite shows and football (U.S.) games. I watch LOST, BAT. GALACTICA, Veronica Mars, Dexter, and everything else that is current in the U.S.

If you have any questions, give he a holler. It may be cheaper on ebay or Amazon. Keep up the great blog and congrats.

John
