The hard thing about being engaged is not I basically need to use the word "we" instead of "I" and it is not easy to do this, but I am getting better. We went out shopping for Christmas cards for all of my friends and family...those that I could remember to think about at the time anyway. Sorry to those I could not think of at the time. All of the cards are for Chinese new year, but I just could not resist giving them because they are super cool in my opinion.
Jiao Jiao had a brilliant idea for a gift for my parents. She took one of my family pictures to her artist friend and had him draw a version of it. It turned out great.

While this present from us is really thoughtful, I think it is nowhere near as cool as the present that I had been planning to give for a long long time and finally was able to give. Here is the story.
After it turned out that my job was as good as it is and I had a bit of spending money, I decided that I wanted to take Jiao Jiao to America for Christmas and propose on Christmas day to her in front of my family. However, the US embassy stopped that dream from becoming a reality. But, we got engaged anyway! They cannot stop that!
After the visa was denied, I decided that I wanted to give my parents tickets to China in the summer time when I went home. In my mind, I pictured the laugh and excitement that my Grandma Swannie would have on that day. I can still picture her reaction, or what it would be and while I do not get the pleasure of seeing her excitement, I know she is excited.
But, after using the connections Jiao Jiao has with China Air, I got them two tickets to Beijing in June until the end of July and I can barely wait to give the tickets to them.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE
AND GOD BLESS!
