Another famous attraction of QingDao is LaoShan which is just
another mountain range to climb on. Like other mountains to climb in
China, the first 15 minutes is filled with loads of people, but then
the tourists thin out because it is actually exercise and you have a
quiet walk until the last 15 minutes, which is the same as the first 15
minutes because their is a cable car that takes the lazies to the top.
This particular mountain was unique because you could buy squid and
fish from the bottom to the top. Ironically, we were unable to get into
section one of this mountain because it is off limits to foreigners and
the taxi driver would not tell us what they have their. Ironically, if
they were to let us go there, we would have no idea there is anything
there, but now we all know. HAHA
Here are some pictures, starting with the woman who told us no white folks allowed.
Of course we know it was not her fault, she was just carrying out racist directives. We wondered if the same holds true for Korean travelers.
When I had a roommate we were watching the movie Armageddon, and we saw Hong Kong destroyed by an asteroid. The harbor in the movie was filled with all of these 19th century boats to which my roommate commented, "I have never seen those boats in Hong Kong." That must be because they all got turned into fishing boats in QingDao which we saw on the way up the mountain.

But we did eventually get to hike the mountain of course.

Here is some good English, etched in stone non-the-less.
If you were there, you would see that it is very prone to Plood. The water is very tempting, I seriously wanted to dabble in it. I did see a guy take a piddle in it, is this similar to dabbling? Maybe we could dabble a little piddle onto the head of the woman that said, "No foreigners!"
About half way up the mountain, we came to a temple like many others in China. It was filled with Chinese posers igniting mountains of colorful incense and getting a picture, not the most tranquil of worshiping situations for certain. But, the monks of this temple have a luxury that most monks do not have; ESPN and Playboy!
